New policies protect troops from mild traumatic brain injuries
SAN ANTONIO, Texas (July 22, 2010) -- Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. George W. Casey Jr. has sent a message to commanders throughout the force to reinforce new policies designed to minimize the effects of mild traumatic brain injuries, or mTBI.
National Guard troops to deploy to U.S.-Mexico Border
WASHINGTON (Army News Service, July 19, 2010) -- Up to 1,200 National Guard troops will deploy to the Southwest border with Mexico, Aug. 1, the chief of the National Guard Bureau said in a joint announcement with Obama administration officials at the Pentagon.

Patriot Academy diversifies student body
BUTLERVILLE, Ind. (Army News Service, July 2010) -- It's been a year of firsts for the National Guard's Patriot Academy.
The school opened its doors, Aug. 26, 2009, and graduated its first class March 18. Currently, a new class has started and a new precedent has been established. There are now female Soldiers attending the Patriot Academy.
90 years after his death, remains of World War I soldier found
(CNN) -- Two years ago, U.S. military officials came knocking on Michael Frisbie's door asking for information on his family tree.
They returned about a year ago, this time informing him that the remains of his great-great-uncle -- a soldier missing in action since World War I -- had been identified.
