White House looking for Army's best drivers

FORT HOOD, Texas (April 21, 2010) -- Recruiters from the White House Transportation Agency went to Fort Hood, Texas, to find the Army's best drivers. The recruiters targeted specific transportation-type units within III Corps such as the 4th Sustainment Brigade and 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary).

Army's newest helicopter now flying in Europe

KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany -- The 21st Theater Sustainment Command paved the way for another first when it facilitated the acquisition and receipt of five UH-72A Lakota helicopters - the Army's newest aircraft. The cutting-edge helicopters received at Ramstein Air Base, April 13, are the first ones to reach the U.S. Army in Europe.

Up to 250,000 Gulf War veterans have 'unexplained medical symptoms'

As many as 250,000 veterans of the first Gulf War "have persistent unexplained medical symptoms" whose cause may never be found, although genetic testing and functional brain imaging may eventually shed some light on the problem.

Automation to improve Post-9/11 GI Bill processing

WASHINGTON (April 9, 2010) -- With 153,000 veterans enrolled in the Post-9/11 GI Bill this semester, and new automation tools to arrive this month to improve processing procedures, Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric K. Shinseki declared the program "on track" and headed toward greater efficiency.
